Coming of Age

Sunday 26 June 2005 was a very special day in our calendar in AMKPC. It was our inaugural AGM and elections, after having been part of Covenant's AGM for the last 13 years. It was held in the seminar room in PHS, and was well attended by our members. We achieved a quorum of over 80%, and most of those who could not attend made their apologies well in advance.

As expected the voting took place without any great fanfare, and I am pleased to announce that each and every one of the nominees were elected into office with votes far exceeding the required quota of 2/3 for the elders and 50% for the deacons. As such, the new Elders and Deacons Committee now comprises:

Honestly for me, it is a very humbling experience to be entrusted with the shepherding of God's people, and I am thankful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. I am also very thankful that it seems that in many ways, God has been preparing me and equipping me to serve in this ministry. I hope and pray that I will be able to meet all that is expected of me from God, and from the congregation.

Thank God for blessing this church with an abundance of talent and Godly leaders. It is my privilege to be able to work with them. Your prayers are very much appreciated for us to be able to work well together, to discern God's direction for this church, and for the wisdom to carry out God's plans to fruition.
